Using microG

microG is a FOSS implementation of Google libraries, that acts as a replacement for Google Play Services.

Most android devices stock operating systems do not support microG, due to this rooting is usually required for usage. Although, there have been reports from users on the Kyocera Digno Keitai 3 having success using microG without root1.

Installation

microG can be downloaded through F-Droid by adding the microG repository. You can add the repository link through F-Droid settings.

After adding the repository download microG Services through F-Droid.

Signature spoofing

Requirements:

  1. Having rooted the phone (For DIGNO 4 users see the page rooting the Kyocera DIGNO 4).

  2. Having installed microG

  3. Having a USB data cable

It should be noted that LSPosed is only accessible by the notification it creates or a shortcut. At this time it is not possible to use shortcuts on InkOS2.

To set up signature spoofing you will need to get a module for LSPosed called FakeGapps. Using this will make it so that MicroG can fully masquerade as Google Play Services.

  1. On the phone open Magisk and go to settings. Enable Zygisk and reboot the phone if prompted.

  2. You will need to download the latest LSPosed Zygisk release, which may be found here: https://github.com/LSPosed/LSPosed/releases

  3. Move the zip onto your phone via USB and install it using Magisk.

  4. Enable LSPosed and reboot.

  1. Install the FakeGApps APK from here: https://github.com/whew-inc/FakeGApps/releases

  2. Open LSPosed and enable FakeGApps.

  3. Reboot the phone.

After rebooting the device you should find a check mark in microG for signature spoofing.
