Android settings menu

On the Kyocera DIGNO Keitai 4 and Kyocera DIGNO Keitai 3, some settings available to the phone are not accessible via the settings menu built for the phone. Additional settings are still supported but are only accessible in the stock android settings menu.

Setting options

Auto rotate and auto brightness only work on the DIGNO 3 since the DIGNO 4 loses the infrared sensor and pedometer.

For information on how auto brightness works on the DIGNO 3, see this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/dumbphones/comments/16fuvdk/some_tips_and_tricks_for_the_kyocera_902kc/

Through this menu you can also format an SD card as Internal storage for apps.

Accessing

This menu may be accessed in multiple ways as it is an app that is still on the device, just not accessible by normal means.

You can open the settings menu directly by running in a terminal:

adb shell am start -a android.settings.SETTINGS

Shortcut Apps

For easy access in the future you can create a shortcut.

It is recommended to use the Activity Manager app, which can be installed through F-Droid. Shortcuts are not supported on the stock launcher or InkOS. However, on InkOS you can make a shortcut through the launchers settings, see the InkOS section for details.

Find General settings and in the search bar enter android.settings.SETTINGS. Click the 3 dots to the right of it,and create shortcut. You can create it using the top right button.

If activity manager does not work on the 90XKC you may also use QuickShortcutMaker, which seems to work for some.

Accessing without ADB (DIGNO 3 Only)

On the DIGNO 3 in the notification menu there is a gear icon you can select to access the hidden settings menu. You should be able to access the notification menu by holding down the II Key, however this may not be the case on the DIGNO 3.

On the DIGNO 3 you may access the notifications menu by using the cursor to click on the status bar (hold down to enter drag mode), and then pull down the notifications panel (via the D-pad down key). There should be a gear icon that you can select with the cursor1.

Oddly this gear icon is absent on the DIGNO 4, as such this method will not work for it.
