Carrier Compatibility

This page lists carrier compatibility by country.

If your provider is not listed, they are likely an MVNO. This means that they use the network of a larger carrier. This page lists major carriers and relevant MVNO's. If your MVNO is not listed, look up which network they are based on and reference it with the provided info here. Please be aware that MVNO's can differ on connectivity.

Please double check your city filtering by a provider and by 4G on Cellmapper: https://www.cellmapper.net/

Bands that carriers use can differ between cities on occasion, and especially outside of cities.

Canada

Currently in Canada 3G is being phased out, with some carriers already having phased it out of their networks, and some in the process of doing so1.

Additionally, some carriers have strict phone specific whitelisting for the registration of IMS. Without IMS VoLTE will not work. VoLTE is how calls function over a 4G network and so with the 3G shutdown some carriers no longer support calls at all. See carrier specific information below.

Telus (Koodo, Public Mobile)

Telus and their MVNO's do not seem to have a whitelist in place, and IMS has been found to be registered on the A202KC2.

Rogers (Fido, Chatr)

Rogers and Fido are generally known to have a whitelist in place for IMS registration3. There has yet to be a confirmed case of IMS registering on them.

Bell (Virgin Mobile Canada, Lucky Mobile, Loblaws, PC Telecom)

Bell does not seem to have an IMS registration whitelist4.

Freedom Mobile

Does not seem to have a whitelist, needs further research.
